Helping our clients heal often requires a dynamic and flexible approach that compliments traditional therapies. Jim Cress, MA, LCMHC, CSAT will help professionals understand the use of experiential therapy and psychodrama techniques during this interactive training event at Bethesda Workshops. Jim brings a Christian faith-based perspective to this powerful method of treatment.

Learn techniques to help your client become free of painful, unhappy, or otherwise bad feelings from past experiences, change the nature of their current and future relationships, and live up to their full potential. Participants will understand the use of experiential therapy in the treatment of many types of issues including deeper woundedness.

• Learn the foundational elements of experiential therapy and psychodrama techniques
• Gain practical, hands-on experience applying experiential methods
• Understand/practice the use of experiential therapy in the treatment of issues such as trauma, attachment repair, anger, addictions, and family-of-origin wounds
• Learn how to create group safety through mindfulness techniques and experiential warm-up exercises
• See how to facilitate group feedback and sharing

Experiential exercises can be used in conjunction with different styles of traditional talk therapy and will include exercises for use with individuals, couples, and groups.
