Kim has over 38 years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist in the private practice arena, residential addiction industry and community mental health. She specializes in working with intimacy disorders, relational betrayal, love, relationship, and sex addiction. Kim has been intensively trained as a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT) through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). Kim also receiving training in experiential therapy and psychodrama at Onsite Workshops in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee and is a Level Two Certified Experiential Therapist. She is also certified in the Marilyn Murray “Murray Method,” which is used to treat individuals with unresolved trauma, addictions and abuse.

Most importantly, Kim’s own personal growth, recovery and development have helped her show up in the world not only as a better clinician, but as a better human. She believes at the heart of her work that everyone can heal and change when they let others walk beside them on their journey.

Kim received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work in 1985.  In addition to Kim’s work at Bethesda Workshops, she facilitates regularly at Onsite Workshops. She has recently closed her private practice to provide more time for being with her husband and grandchildren. She loves the outdoors and enjoys running, hiking, and working out. Fitness is important to her so that she can keep up with her grandchildren! Being their “Mimmy” is the highlight of her life. She and Mark have been married since 1986 and have four married sons and five beautiful grandchildren. They love traveling and growing older together.
