Pre-Requisites

• Attended a previous Bethesda Healing for Couples workshop
• At least 90 days sobriety from sex and love addiction
• At least 90 days sobriety from chemical addictions
• Have a relationship with a trained therapist
• Free from significant clinical diagnosis or under treatment and stable

About the Workshop

The Advanced Healing for Couples Workshop is a Level 2 (advanced) workshop that offers an opportunity to pursue deeper healing within a coupleship. As such, it’s primarily an experiential workshop. “Experiential” means the agenda includes exercises like psychodrama, “empty chair” work, and similar active ways of getting to deeper levels of understanding and healing. Small group time with other couples will comprise the majority of the workshop, rather than teaching segments.

Each couple will identify the work you choose to do. Possible topics include better communication, rebuilding trust, deepening intimacy, healthy sexuality, finances, parenting, or any other issue you want to address.

Two leaders will facilitate each small group, which normally will have four to six couples. All leaders are at least master’s level, licensed therapists with specific training in psychodrama and experiential therapy.

Location & Lodging

Nashville, TN

The workshops are held at the Bethesda Center located in the Woodmont Hills Church in Nashville. All participants stay together in a nearby hotel, where each person shares a room with another workshop participant. (Couples will room with their spouses unless advance arrangements are made with the Bethesda Workshops staff.  The Bethesda staff will handle your hotel reservations, and all lodging (excluding any optional nights) and meals are included in your workshop fee.

Travel Information

 

The workshop begins promptly at 10:00 am CST on Thursday. If you’re flying in Thursday morning, ideally you should arrive no later than 9:00 am so you’ll have time to get to the workshop site. The workshop ends at 5:00 pm on Saturday and participants are free to leave then.

You’re strongly encouraged to arrive rested for the workshop.

The Bethesda home page has a Travel Information link at the top that provides more information. When you register for a workshop, a Travel Form is one of the documents you’ll receive, and that form provides space for you to communicate your travel plans and lodging needs to the Bethesda staff.

Workshop fee:             $2,500.00 per couple (includes lodging & meals for both)
