Kirk received his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has worked in multiple settings including on the Master’s and Johnson’s Sexual Trauma/Compulsion Unit at River Oaks Hospital in New Orleans, an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center, and in private practice.

Kirk is a member of the following professional organizations and holds these clinical certifications:
• Certified Sexual Addictions Specialist (CSAS) through the American Association of Certified Christian Sexual Addictions Specialists, Inc.
• American Association of Christian Counselors
• Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health
• Christian Association of Psychological Studies
• American Board of Christian Sex Therapist (ABCST, intern member)
• Certification in Christian Sex Therapy through the Institute of Sexual Wholeness (in process)

Kirk and his wife Audra, also a licensed counselor, work together at New Discoveries Counseling Center, a private counseling practice with two offices in the Chattanooga area.
