Dolores (“Dee”) Parlato holds a master’s degree in counseling, as well as a Biblical Ministry Certificate, from Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. She received her BA in Social Psychology from Park University, St. Louis, and served for 20 years in the United States Navy as a photojournalist until her retirement in 2003.

Dolores holds the following clinical licensures and certifications:
• Licensed Professional Counselor, South Carolina (since 2006)
• Certified Sexual Addictions Specialist (CSAS) through the American Association of Certified Christian Sexual Addictions Specialists, Inc.
• Certified Sexual Addictions Therapist (CSAT, completed Module 4) through the International Institute of Trauma and Addictions Professionals

Dolores focuses her practice around trauma, addictions and marital work at the Christian Counseling Center of First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC. She developed and manages the center’s treatment program for sex addicts, co-addicts and marriages struggling with sexually compulsive behavior.

Dolores’ interest in spiritual formation, contemplative prayer and the practice of the spiritual disciplines are integrated into her clinical work. She is presently pursuing training as a Spiritual Director in the Ignatian tradition and attends RENOVARE’s International Spiritual Formation Institute.
